The clinics will be run by our coach consultant Angie Goularte and her staff of softball experts.
Clinic Location:As you can see, we have different age levels scheduled at different times. You can be self-selecting on these times and can attend more than one if you want. Angie thinks you should come to the clinic for the division you're going to be in next Spring, not the division you were in last year. So, if you were a Micro last year, come to the clinic for Younger players, and if you'll be in Middle this year, come to that clinic. Of course, if you want a little refresher on skills for the division you were in before starting on the next level, come to both!
We are not holding general skills clinics for girls in our Older Division because attendance has been fairly limited, but any girl in grades 6 - 9 who wants to participate can join the Middle Division clinic. The Pitcher/Catcher clinic is intended for all girls interested in learning pitching and catching, or in improving their skills. Remember, being a successful pitcher or catcher requires lots of work outside of regular team practices, and this is a great opportunity to refresh your skills and get in some extra practice.
NEW THIS YEAR - we will also hold Pitching and Catching clinics for Beginning and Experienced pitchers and catchers on the Sundays when we aren't holding general skills clinics. The tentative times for those clinics are:
Dates for the Pitching/Catching clinics are:
Players should bring their gloves, cleats and water and we'll provide the rest. As always, parents should check in with Angie when they arrive to make sure there are no last-minute changes they should know about.
These clinics are open to ABGSL players from last season, as well as any other interested girls in grades 1 - 9, so tell a friend, and tell her how much fun ABGSL is so she wants to come along! This is a great outreach opportunity to introduce other girls in our community to our fantastic league.
Please RSVP if you intend to participate - we need all RSVP's by this Friday to ensure the clinic is properly staffed. To RSVP send a note to clinics@abgsl.org.
If its raining on the morning of the clinic or has rained in the 72 hours prior to the clinic, please call the league hotline 869-4277 that morning for updates and possible cancellations.
Note that all girls in grades 2-9 who are new to the league will need to have a parent present during the entire time they are on the field. We may be able to make limited exceptions to this policy, in which case her parents MUST complete a medical release form before leaving and provide contact information for how they can be reached if necessary. Forms can be downloaded by clicking Release Form, then printed and filled out ahead of time and brought to the clinic or filled out at the field on the day of the clinic. For 1st grade girls - parents MUST remain at the field.
