Bat-A-Que Coordinator
This is our big ABGSL party and fundraiser and will take place
on Saturday, April 30th, at Fielding Field
Highlights of the day:

*** Barbecue lunch for all and free for all girls who
participate in the Bat-A-Thon
*** Dunk Tank! We have two again this year for plenty of
opportunities to dunk your coaches
And the Bat-A-Thon!!!
where the girls can show off their hard work at practices and
hit amazing distances to bring home bragging rights to their
friends and families. More details below about earning prizes
for the amounts of sponsorships the girls are able to bring in.
Sponsor forms will be delivered to the team managers this week.
Please make sure your daughter gets her form, and begins to
solicit sponsors right away. To speed the registration process
and make things run smoothly, we are using duplicate forms.
(Please make sure both copies are legible by helping your
daughter record her pledges on a hard surface.) Be sure your
daughter brings her completed forms and envelope to the
Bat-a-Que on April 30th, along with any money she has collected
in advance.
All girls who participate in the Bat-A-Thon will receive a free
hot dog lunch, an ABGSL water bottle with our new 2011 Bat-A-Que
logo, a free raffle ticket, and a free dunk tank ticket for a
chance to dunk her coach!
More details will follow in the upcoming weeks, including the
event day schedule and raffle prizes.

Girls who raise significant amounts through sponsorship will
earn special prizes:
• $100 collected - earns a t-shirt
• $200 collected - earns a t-shirt OR a sweatshirt
• $250 or above collected earns a t-shirt OR a sweatshirt OR a
be entered into a drawing to win one of 10 spots for a softball
lesson from Coach Bo.
Teams will earn $40 towards an ice-cream party if the team as a
whole earns at least $1,000.
Teams that collect over $1800 will be placed into a drawing to
earn a trip (one trip awarded in this drawing) to Six Flags
Discovery Kingdom for all the players on the team plus 3
supervising adults.
Teams that earn $2500 or more from sponsors will receive tickets
to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (for all girls and 3 adults).
Because we have special Bat-a-Que t-shirts and sweatshirts,
prizes will be distributed before the end of the season by team
managers. ABGSL promotional wear will be available for purchase
the day of the event.
Photo Day
Saturday, April 30th will also be League Photo day. Be sure your
daughter wears her team t-shirt. Both team and individual shots
are scheduled. Information and order forms will be delivered the
week before. Please see the photo packet for information about
taking a buddy shot with a friend or parent.
Photos will be available for distribution by managers before the
end of the season, along with trophies. (So – team Gift
Coordinators – keep in mind a photo for that end of season
coach's gift!)
4/27 note: You should receive your Photo
Order forms from your coach by tonight. Everyone needs to
fill out the top part of the order form
even if they are not ordering anything beyond what is provided
as part of the ABGSL registration fee (an individual and team
photo). The photographer will have extra order forms for those
that forget them, but having them filled out ahead of time will
help speed the process.

Raffle
We are collecting some great raffle prizes. We have A's tickets,
Giant's tickets, ABGSL fan wear, Cal Softball items, and more
coming in. If you would like to donate a raffle prize, please
let me know.
Sponsors
Many of the Sponsors of our teams and of ABGSL attend our
Bat-A-Que because it is so much fun. Please join us in
recognizing these contributors and show them how much we all
appreciate our ABGSL by attending this event yourself with your
family and friends.
Volunteers
If you signed up to volunteer for the Bat-a-Que you will be
contacted by our Volunteer coordinator who will let you know
your job assignment for the day. Shifts are 4 hours each (8:30 -
12:30 a.m. and 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.) Some volunteers will assist
later with prize distribution; prizes are distributed to team
managers over Memorial Day weekend.
