Micro Division

On the last day of the season, the Andronico's Golden Eagles played in split squads under sunny skies. Against the Autumn Press Cardinals, Millicent Sampson-Eves provided great fielding at the mound and at third base, grabbing grounders and throwing well. Kate Henderson also snagged a grounder at shortstop as well as getting solid hits in all three innings. Against the Jane Hammond Events Funky Monkeys, Melina Fike showed some great defensive moves at third, going after a hard hit grounder, and rounding out the game with some solid batting. Elisabeth Wing also hit well, and was kept busy fielding several hits at the mound in the first inning.

Younger Division
Robinson McNally Retrievers 15, Dr. Brenner Cheetahs 13

In the first inning Cheetahs' Miya Keilin at first base, and Aida Baron at pitcher, combined for all three outs. Annie Stonebarger's fast feet tracked down a fly ball for an out. In the third,Taegan Ballantine caught two pop-ups at the mound. Mina Reoutt-Swabeck, Sydney Handler-Vosen and Sofia Oceguera did very nice jobs moving runners along. On the Retrievers side, Claire McNally snagged two outs with throws to first to Robyn Wampler, as well as getting a nice RBI-producing hit. Isabel Lavror hit a double, knocked in some runs, and fielded well. Elle McDonald showed speed on the basepaths and got some great hits. The hits kept coming with Zia Paiz, Evie Malamut, and Briahana Jackson. Adi Saaf had several hits, RBIs, good plays and base running. Robin Cohen hit a double and got an RBI. Raina Pinkosh made a great play from second to throw the runner out at first.

Five Little Monkeys Black Diamonds 13, North Berkeley Investment Partners Lucky Charms 4

The Lucky Charms offense led off with a strong single from Anisa Armistead-Brown, who scored on an infield grounder by Eliza Murley. The Black Diamonds Martina D'Ambrosio combined with Hannah Murray for the first out, Erin Shurtz tagged out a second runner unassisted (the first of her many fine defensive plays), and Sierra Jimenez threw to Maeve Gallagher to force out the lead runner at home plate. Playing first base, Lucky Charm Alison Radkey racked up two quick outs in the bottom of the first inning, one unassisted and one following a spot-on throw from pitcher Griffin Campbell. Then the Black Diamonds Sierra, Hannah, Parisa Imani and Erin hit safely, while Maeve, Martina, Amari Coffey, and Dylan Kurzer-Ogul drove the runners in with RBI singles. In the third, the Black Diamonds batted through the order, with Hope Fa-Kaji and Amelia Galbraith contributing nicely to this six-run inning. The Lucky Charms came back by loading the bases repeatedly, but Black Diamonds pitcher Dylan combined with catcher Erin to get two outs at home plate. The Lucky Charms defense held the Black Diamonds scoreless at the end of the game, as pitcher Anisa and Julia Greensfelder at first combined for two outs, followed by Lily Weiner-Mock's gloving a powerful hit along the third base line.

Middle Division
The Bark Beagles 3, San Marco Associates Killer Bunnies 3

In the first inning, The Beagles' Iona Tangri led off with a strong single and Rosa Rossi-Goldthorpe also hit a nice single. But The Killer Bunnies' Avery Evans threw out a runner trying to steal third, and the Beagles were unable to score. In the second inning, The Killer Bunnies' Shira Baskind and Evans hit singles, but Beagles catcher Rossi-Goldthorpe made a long strong throw to Kelia Human who tagged-out the runner trying to steal third and The Killer Bunnies could not score. The Beagles had a strong third inning. Catey Hoehn had a pop-fly single, followed by Isabel Daniel's double that brought Hoehn sliding home. Rossi-Goldthorpe's double advance Daniels to third base. With two outs, Human hit a powerful fly ball that brought home Daniels and Rossi-Goldthorpe, for a total of three runs. The Killer Bunnies came back in the bottom of the fourth. Sarah Tiffin, Graham Griffin, and Laisani Waqa singled, with Tiffin scoring on Waqa's hit. Then Baskind doubled with a towering fly to the outfield, scoring two more runs. After stealing third, Baskind could not make it home, and the game ended tied at 3-3.

Berkeley Orthodontic Pumas 7, Adobe Systems Screamers 4

The BKO Pumas ended the season with a victory over the Adobe Screamers on a beautiful summer afternoon at Oceanview Park. The Pumas scored 4 runs in the first inning, with Emily Wert making a fine contribution. In the 2nd inning, Alejandra Zeiger had a solid hit and scored. In the 3rd and last inning, Mariel Rosenberg, Julia Rosenberg, and Cara Chinn all had solid hits. The Adobe Screamers, with only five girls on the roster, battled back from a 7-0 deficit to score 4 runs. The Adobe roster was comprised of Angelica Gonzales, Sarah Quady, Roxanne Wiblin, Megan Foley, and Hanna Feiner.

Older Division
Alliance Graphics Phantoms 10, Zonta Fried Chicken Tacos 10

The last game of the season was a great game for both teams, showing all the fine skills developed over the months of hard practice. Zonta scored four runs in the first inning, with skilled base running by Anne Wanless and big hit RBI by Sarah Lake to bring Nora Killian home. Phantoms' Amoni Smith caught a hard line drive fly ball for the last out of the inning. In the second, Phantoms pitcher Kendal Kirkman recorded three straight strike outs for a fine effort. The third inning featured a booming triple by Zonta's Sarah Lake. The fourth inning was filled with scoring: For the Phantoms, Kendal, Carlin Hudson and Rachel Pozoes all scored, while Zonta's Reyna Fa-Kaji, Nora, and Sarah all made it home as well .With Zonta up by two runs in the fifth inning excitement filled the air. Phantoms Olivia Anderson and Maya Dilworth scored runs to tie the game at 10, then Phantoms' pitcher Annie Smith held Zonta scoreless to end the game.
